To provide timely and accurate information about the policies, programmes, services and related activities of the Government and to foster a clear understanding and knowledge of its aims and objectives.
About GIS
The Government Information Service (GIS) has responsibility for the dissemination of information on Government policies,practices and programmes. It is the communication link between government and the citizens of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
In addition to its governmental role GIS services statutory bodies, non- governmental organisations and the rest of the community.
The organisation plays an archival role in preserving information on all aspects of the islands including its history, demography, economy, cultural and community affairs.
GIS not only serves the citizens of then Turks and Caicos but also responds to requests for information from international agencies.
The work of the Government Information Service is managed by an Information Officer and an Assistant.
