| SWAT TRAINING COURSE TO OBSERVE CLOSING CEREMONY |
PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands; Thursday, July 9th, 2009 – On Friday July 17th, the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Department will host a closing ceremony for the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Training Course that is currently taking place on Providenciales.
The event, scheduled to be held at 3:00pm at the Chalk Sound Police Station will see remarks being brought by His Excellency the Governor Gordon Wetherell, Commissioner of Police, Edward Hall, along with other senior Police Officers.
The SWAT Training Course is facilitated by a team of five (5) Officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force SWAT Team, and headed by Inspector Kenton Rolle.
The Course was designed to enhance the operational capabilities of the Tactical Unit in various procedures and tactical maneuvers. A number of different subjects areas taught included: tactical communication, marksmanship fundamentals, and introduction to ballistic shields, introduction to close quarter battle, among other areas.
