| SPANISH-SPEAKING FOOD HANDLERS TO BENEFIT FROM TRAINING |
GRAND TURK, Turk and Caicos Islands; Monday, December 8, 2008 - The Environmental Health Department is reminding all food business operators of a food handlers training session slated for tomorrow, Tuesday December 9, at the Environmental Health Department's conference room on Dunscombe Alley in Grand Turk.
Training is a critical factor in food safety, as it gives food handlers an opportunity to become better acquainted with the established principles, standards and practices of food hygiene, along with providing guidance on how to achieve said standards.
These sessions, coordinated in order to support the overall improvement in food safety practices within the island of Grand Turk, are tailored for Spanish-speaking food handlers. The hour and a half long session includes a presentation, and will be followed by an evaluation.
In order to limit disruption of food establishment operations, two sessions are available to allow food handlers to be exposed to this crucial training. The morning session commences at 9 a.m. and the afternoon session at 2:30p.m. .
For more information or to confirm attendance, kindly contact Alicia Mullings, Environmental Health Officer, on 946-2801, ext 50305 to RSVP your employee(s) attendance.
