NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT DRIVE – NEXT WEEK
PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands; Thursday, November 20th, 2008 – The Ministry of Home Affairs, Public Safety and Aviation will be hosting a National Employment Drive commencing on Monday November 24th through to Friday November 28th, 2008.

On Monday, November 24th a registration drive for unemployed persons and persons seeking a change of careers will take place at the Gustarvus Lightbourne Sports Centre in Providenciales at 10am until 6pm. Persons who do not register on Monday will have the opportunity to do so on Tuesday at the Ministry of Home Affairs office in Caribbean Place from 10am until 3pm.

The National Employment Drive continues on Wednesday and Thursday with workshops for registrants as well as employers. These workshops are also being held at the Gustarvus Lightbourne Sports Centre from 9am to 1pm on both days. Workshop session topics include Self Assessment, Expectations of Potential Employees, Remaining Employable in a Changing Environment, Work Ethic, Interview Preparation and the Employment Process. The workshops promises to be very informative and interactive.

The week's activities culminate on Friday November 28th with a job fair. Various resorts and or companies will be screening and interviewing candidates who have registered and attended the workshops during the National Employment Drive.

Experts in industries such as construction, hospitality and banking along with other professions will be on hand to speak one on one with registrants about career choices and areas they are best suited for within the industry they choose to work in.

Persons who register will be required to attend ALL workshops in order to receive assistance with job placement.

All interested persons are asked to bring along their resumes, photo identification, proof of qualifications, proof of Immigration status and either the names and contact information of two referees or a written character reference and employment reference from your most recent employer.
